One of the key components of an effective weight loss plan is exercise. Although exercise is one of the key components of a weight loss plan many are uncertain of the types of exercise right for their needs.

So, is there a best exercise to lose weight? There is no one size fits all exercise but some exercises are more effective than others.

Taking A Walk

If you are just starting an exercise plan try starting with something simple like walking, instead of a more physically demanding exercise that will make you want to quit after one day.

When walking, wear comfortable shoes that provide your feet with support.

Walking is a great exercise for beginners. It is low impact and can be done at your own pace.

Walking and exercise in general will not only improve your health but it can dramatically reduce your chances of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and can also help lower cholesterol.

Aerobic Exercises

Dancing is an activity that most people enjoy and it is a great way to burn calories and shed pounds. Aerobic dance routines come in a wide variety from Latin dance routines to hip hop dance. The number of calories you burn will depend on the intensity of the workout.

Engaging in aerobic dance routines on a consistent basis will help improve your cardiovascular health, improve blood pressure and increase mental alertness.

As with any workout routine, exercising for 30 minutes or more at least three times weekly is recommended for best results.

Swimming Laps

Taking a few laps in a pool is a great way to lose weight and tone your body.

Swimming utilizes muscles all throughout the body, which makes it great for toning, strengthening and weight loss.

If you combine healthy eating habits with swimming you will soon begin to notice dramatic positive improvements in your body.

One thing you should always remember when exercising is to start your routine with some warm up exercises and end your routine with exercises to cool your body down.

Any of these exercises alone or combined will help you lose weight if done consistently.

While any exercise is better than none, the best exercise to lose weight is the one you enjoy and produces the results you desire.
